Medical malpractice lawyers took notice when federal prosecutors released a recorded jailhouse phone call between indicted Haysville doctor Stephen Schneider and advocacy group leader Siobhan Reynolds.
But in this phone call, Reynolds tells Schneider to stop agreeing to settle the lawsuits.

“Some of these cases looked on their way to being settled, but in recent weeks that has stopped,” said Larry Wall, one of the lawyers who represent patients in several wrongful death suits. “It’s unfortunate that someone who is not a lawyer is giving that kind of advice.” Wall said he expects to file more malpractice suits against Schneider.

i’m sure mr wall is just broken hearted he will now have to think twice about buying that cherry red jag …
with all the ‘patriot act’ smoke and mirror show antics, it’s really beyond words what not only the wiretaps mean, but also how words and concepts get taken out of context and offered up as rationale for even more legal tomfoolery.
why SHOULD the dr OR his ins co (don’t get me wrong—NOT a big fan…) de facto admit guilt and/or wrongdoing by agreeing to settlement?
i’m not a lawyer, but it sure sounds counterintuitive to me…
